Graduation week update.

Tomorrow is the big day. I got another final back today, so I've only got two left before I know that I will rightfully walk across the stage. Yeah, I'm not worried - but I'm still curious about how I did on the flu-bug final!

Tonight was a big banquet that was a delightful way to spend the evening. My group fit perfectly at our table for 10 people (plus Baby Blake on the ground), and the various elements of the group mesh well (I think). Our good friends who we met while they were missionaries in Guatemala came up from New Jersey for the dinner, and their remarks to me neatly encapsulate one of the best dynamics of my Westminster education.

What the missionaries particularly enjoyed was the climax of the evening: all of the graduates lined up and said into the microphone where we're from and where we're going. We literally had the world represented. When Isaiah talks about the nations streaming to Jerusalem (Isa 2:2), this is it. And, in fact, Westminster's mission is to "extend the knowledge of the glory of God in Christ until that knowledge covers the earth as the waters cover the sea." I love that the nations converge on this little campus in Glenside, PA.

What is more, many of these people are returning to their countries in order to teach in other seminaries or faithfully shepherd God's sheep. What a worldwide network this seminary feeds - and this one year of graduates was only a tiny cross section of the 76 years this has been happening!

It is so humbling. And amazing. And exciting. I can't believe I've had the privilege for the last 3 years to be a part of this community. It's just a glimpse of the community of the redeemed; it makes me marvel at God's power and rejoice in spending eternity with these friends.
