Dakota Skyscape.

DSCN2290, originally uploaded by A Random Mind.

There's more where that came from, if you want to see what happened when mom and I got reallyreally bored about 6 hours into our drive on Tuesday. Actually, the really bored pictures didn't make it in the Flickr upload. Nor the picture of James actually smiling in a picture, though he didn't mean to :)

And now, for something on a completely different topic: I was reminded again today of this verse, which struck me earlier in the semester.

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins. Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
(2 Peter 1:5-11)

I won't be trying to do any more explanation; it would all be redundant. I don't want to be ineffective or unproductive, nearsighted or blind, or to forget that I have been cleansed from my past sins. Therefore, my whole life shall be an endeavor to make my calling and election sure ... which (as we know well) is itself a gift of God's grace!

Welcome home! I bet you're glad to be done with the roadtrip...I'm still in Paris with Sandrine and Cathy - having fun but it's been a bit cool and rainy - oh well, at least I found cheap internet service!

Congratulations on making it safely back home! Isn't North Dakota beautiful? I just got to Grand Forks, ND today, actually, and your pictures make me envious. While I very much enjoyed the scenery, it was cloudy/rainy almost the entire way, so my view wasn't nearly as nice as yours. But at least I got here safely, thanks be to God!
