I Have a Maker

Lately, I've had the lyrics to this song in my head. We used to sing it at Spirit and Truth -- and the catchy tune and good lyrics are making me miss singing it! Picture singing this with lots of loud clapping and people swaying around in a multi-racial-but-mostly-latino church :)

I have a Maker,
He formed my heart.
Before even time began,
My life was in His hands.

CHORUS: He knows my name.
He knows my every thought.
He sees each tear that falls
and he hears me when I call.

I have a Father.
He calls me His own.
He'll never leave me.
No matter where I go.

CHORUS: He knows my name.
He knows my every thought.
He sees each tear that falls
and hears me when I call.

I think what first got me thinking about this song was seeing the title to Debby Anderson's book God Knows My Name, which was reviewed by Tulip Girl. She also reviewed Most of All, Jesus Loves You, by Noel Piper, which looks very good as well. A note to my young-mother-friends (or SOON-TO-BE young mothers): this might be in my cache of gifts for you!
