Bookses.

Melodee recently tagged me for a book meme, and I look forward to doing it when I have the time (this weekend, maybe?). In the meantime, here are some quotes from my most recent read, Anne of Green Gables. I hadn't picked up those books for a long while, although I think of them frequently, and I'd forgotten what a delight it is to follow Anne's adventures throughout Green Gables, Avonlea, and beyond.
"Ruby Gillis says when she grows up she's going to have ever so many beaus
on the string and have them all crazy about her; but I think that would be too
exciting. I'd rather have just one in his right mind." (p. 140)

"The world looks like something God had just imagined for his own pleasure,
doesn't it?" (p. 144 ... as I recall, Marilla thought this sounded rather
sacrilegious, but I think John Piper would disagree, don't you?)

"Kindred spirits are not so rare as I used to think. It's splendid to
find there are so many of them in the world." (p. 159)

I guess maybe I like these quotes because they sound like the Anne inside of me!

Great quotes! :) I just re-read the first three Anne books this spring (before getting bogged down in Anne of Windy Poplars), and they were even more delightful than I remembered them being. I'd forgotten how funny they are...

I'm looking forward to your meme!

I recently re-read the first three Anne books as well. It had been years since I had read the first one, and I loved it. Most of the time Anne looks at life the way I would like to - as a beautiful adventure.
