This morning at staff devotions, I shared my "Top 65 Quotes from Relationships: A Mess Worth Making."
The idea to do so came from a fantastic colleague who just retired and would share pages of quotes from other CCEF books he'd read; one difference though is that he typed hunt-n-peck style, one letter at a time, so his was much more a labor of love than mine (guaged by time spent typing). Another difference is that he actually finished the books before sharing, while I only read about 2/3 before I was up for devo's.
Nonetheless, I love every quote that I shared, and I could spend a year drinking up the wisdom from just one or two of them. If you'd like me to email you the 8 pages of quotes, let me know and I'm glad to do so.
In the meantime, here's one of the many nuggets:
"Weak and needy people finding their hope in Christ’s grace are what mark a mature relationship. The most dangerous aspect of your relationships is not your weakness, but your delusions of strength. Self-reliance is almost always a component of a bad relationship (12)."

I think having a strong relationship with Christ is necessary before you can ever hope to form a proper relationship with another human being.
