Where have all the bloggers gone?

Okay, I guess it's just me who's been MIA. The picture above was taken on my phone in front of Chicago's Cloud Gate sculpture. Chicago? wha? Yeah, I flew out for a mediation and it ended up wrapping up a day earlier than expected. I posted some thoughts about my mediation on the Peacemaker Blog, Route 5:9. I have a lot more thoughts, but confidentiality prevents me from sharing them ... sorry!
So anyway, I spent the morning doing emails and the afternoon walking around downtown Chicago until my little feetsies froze (didn't have any shoes appropriate for walking around in winter). Then I ducked into a coffee shop to do some reading. The only "pleasure reading" I have with me is Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ by John Piper, so I'd tucked it into my purse and cracked it out in the warm coffee shop. Here's a quote I really liked:
The glory of Jesus Christ is that he is always out of sync with the world and
therefore always relevant for the world. If he fit nicely, he would be of little
use. The effort to remake the Jesus of the Bible so that he fits the spirit of
one generation makes him feeble in another. Better to let him be what he is,
because it is often the offensive side of Jesus that we need most (pg. 99).
That might be all you hear from me for a few more days. If I don't post between now and then (tho I expect that I will), have a blessed Easter!
