Psalm 42

Today was a hard day. Not one particular, identifiable thing was wrong, but I was just off, and feeling fragile, and things bothered me more than they should have. Which bothered me, probably more than it should have (vicious cycle).

Actually, the last week has been like that.

So here are 4 verses from Psalm 42:

verses 1 & 2: As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, O God.

2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?

verse 5: Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.

and verse 8: By day the LORD directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.

Tonight, his song is with me, and tomorrow he will continue to direct me in -- and into -- his love.
