Joyful Dissatisfaction

From the How People Change Workbook:

Do you know that God calls you to be dissatisfied? Do you know that it is a good thing to be discontent? Do you know that you should be restless and hungry? The Christian life is a state of thankful discontentment or joyful dissatisfaction. That is, I live every day thankful for the amazing grace that has fundamentally changed my life, but I am not satisfied. Why? Because, when I look at myself honestly, I have to admit that there is still need for change and growth. I am not yet all that I could be in Christ. Yes, I am thankful for the many things in my life that would not be there without his grace, but I will not settle for a partial inheritance! I want nothing less than all that is mine in Christ! In this sense, God does not want me to be content. He does not want us to enjoy only a small portion of the riches he has given us. He calls us to continue to wrestle, meditate, look, consider, watch, examine, right, run, persevere, confess, resist, submit, follow, and pray until we have been completely transformed into his likeness.
