The grace of having your identity rooted outside of yourself. Of knowing that you deserve nothing and have been given everything. The grace of belonging wholly and truly to another.
It's the courage to take risks that are both thrilling and terrifying, in jobs, in relationships, in life.
It's the courage to fail -- and to fail spectacularly -- and move on boldly.
It's the courage to look someone in the eye and tell them the truth.
It's the courage to apologize and be confident in the forgiveness granted.
It's the courage to embark on a journey, knowing that it will bring you in the way of pain as well as joy.
It's the courage conjoined in the lion of Judah and the lamb of God.
Truly, what a friend we have in Jesus, who is grace and brings grace and renews grace for us!
(These are thoughts I had while mowing my lawn yesterday ... a really inspirational activity, I tell you!)
