Midnight: The Book is Better than the Movie

I'm about to finish watching Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. I read the book after my brother finished it on our Galapagos trip. I have to say, the book was way better than the movie -- significantly more character development, tons of witty dialog, and the plot has many more twists and turns (this isn't at all to diminish the performances of John Cusack, Kevin Spacey or, of course, The Lady Chablis).

If you get a chance to check out the book, I enjoyed it very much (it's a little raw at parts). And when you're done with that, fans of American literature, Italian culture and gossip will enjoy John Berendt's next book (which I read first), The City of Falling Angels.

Midnight was improved by the fact that I have Migo curled up in my lap. A 100 lb lab sleeping like a baby -- there's not much sweeter. Technically, only his head fits in my lap; but what a velvety soft head it is!
