Um, yeah, it's cold

My car only got to -9 on my way to work this morning (it takes a while for the car to realize that it's colder than the garage -- even though all liquids in my garage are frozen now!). But the weather service a la Yahoo says it's -14 right now. For those of you not familiar with what -14 feels like, that's reallyreally cold. Melodee, do you have your long johns on? I sure do!
On another subject, I'll be out of town for the next two days, but I have some homework for you, my dear readers. I spent some time on Sunday afternoon coming up with a handful of verses that speak to our satisfaction in God. For example:
"Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare. (Isa 55:1-2)
and
LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance... You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. (Psalm 16:5-6, 11)
Now it's your turn. Would you leave a verse in the comments that speaks to YOU about finding your satisfaction in Christ?

Hi Molly:

Psalm 63 was my first thought.
"I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and glory. Because your love is better than life my lips will glorify you...My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods; Sharon

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart... Psalm 37:4 or as Piper words it - God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him!

Psalm 27:14
Wait for the Lord. Be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

I wish I was more patient.

I echo Addie, as I'm memorizing Psalm 27 right now:

"One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple." Ps. 27:4

And yes, on the day in question I was most certainly wearing my long johns. :)

If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! Luke 11:13

If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
2 Peter 1:3

I said to the Lord, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.-- I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay. You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Pslam 16:5, 7-11

Just to name a few.
