Such a thing as glory

I woke up this morning with Rich Mullins' song "Such a Thing as Glory" in my head. Here are some of the lyrics:
There is such a thing as glory
And there are hints of it everywhere
And the hints are overwhelming
And the sense is in the air
It's more powerful than morning
For the morning can't compare
With such a thing as glory...

Why this song? Because I was thinking this morning about how God gets into our lives and redeems us and changes us and gives us new opportunities and second chances. And of how this process -- this seeing and experiencing God so intimately and powerfully at work is like peeling back the veil a little bit and seeing a glimpse of his holiness. It's a "take off your shoes, you're on holy ground" sort of experience. Generally if I see and contemplate this process at all, I take it for granted. I don't tremble at what a holy moment it is.

And experiencing it, well, it's a taste of glory. It's entering into glory. There are hints of it everywhere. Overwhelming hints. It's more powerful than mourning ... it can't compare with Glory.

Thanks, Molly. I needed to be reminded of glory this morning.
