Arnold.
I dedicate this post to all those out there who live in California, who have lived in California, who are thinking about living in California, and who have ever quoted (or laughed at) a Terminator movie.

Welp. The culture does place a greater value on recruitment of women and minorities in industry. And I think that's great as long as they aren't hired primarily because they are of a certain gender or race.
As to "better paying," factor in the higher cost of living, and that's prolly not saying much. And "more fulfilling" for a woman with "hopes and dreams," jury's still out on that one. Perhaps a more welcoming environment means fewer obstacles in the corporate world (ie better maternity leave packages) for a woman. Though that's assuming a woman's hope and dreams are to be found outside the home? Which I don't necessarily buy.
As much I love saladbowl diversity in California, I say California is "a much better place" because of THE WEATHER. Please, no more rain&thrashing winds and schizo weather in april, East Coast. Please! :)
TL, you could move to MT -- we don't have rain & thrashing winds in April ... we just get snow occasionally in April! But, we maintain our beautiful blue skies almost all the time anyway.
