My question, though, is how Harvard imagines they will have anything to contribute to the debate when their researchers enter the investigation convinced that God did not have a hand in creation.

This kind of reminds me of the rather fruitless search for the Ultimate Question in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy...
It's a little funny how much faith people put in evolution, without seeing it that way, but then I guess I can see why. Design kind of throws a wrench in a nice modern worldview.
